About WBMCC

West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) 2024 has been formed via memo no. HFW-23099/206/2023/M/1338 dated 30-05-2024 like previous years. The committee is chaired by the Director of Medical Education (DME) and co-chaired by the Director of Health Services (DHS), Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal.

Roles and responsibilities of WBMCC:
  1. Maintenance of official website of WBMCC, DoH&FW, GoWB.
  2. Finalization of State Counselling Procedure and Schedules.
  3. Coordination with NMC, MCC and other stakeholders involved in the counselling procedure.
  4. Fixation of Counselling fees and other deposits, if any.
  5. Coordination with the Participating Institutions and finalize the admission policies etc.
  6. Finalization of Document Verification Centres, Reporting Centres for admission and centralized Mop-up Counselling (if any) etc.
  7. Setting up Help Centres during the Counselling period.
  8. Arrangement of necessary trainings and handholding of the participating institutes.
  9. Legal issues transferred to WBMCC/DME relating State Counselling.
  10. Any other miscellaneous tasks involved in the process of State level Counselling for Medical, Dental and AYUSH seats.
