Introduction

Online Counselling and admission to various Post-Graduate (PG) and Under-Graduate (UG) courses in Medical, Dental and AYUSH at the State level are being conducted by West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC), formed by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal under the chairmanship of the Director of Medical Education.

UG Medical and Dental Counselling

Candidates who have qualified through NEET-UG conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) during the current academic year are eligible to participate in State Online Counselling for Under-Graduate Medical and Dental Courses for State Quota seats in Government Medical and Dental Colleges with State Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical Colleges and State Quota, Management Quota in Private Dental Colleges in West Bengal.

85% State Quota seats for under-graduate courses (MBBS/BDS) are being allotted through Online Counselling at the State level.

PG Medical and PG Dental Counselling

Candidates who have qualified through NEET-PG/NEET-MDS conducted by National Board of Examination (NBE) during the current academic year are eligible to participate in State Online Counselling for Post-Graduate Medical and Dental Courses for State Quota seats in Government Medical and Dental Colleges along with State Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota seats in Private Medical Colleges and State Quota, Management Quota in Private Dental Colleges in West Bengal.

50% State Quota seats for Post-Graduate courses in Medical [(MD/MS/PG Diploma), DNB (post-MBBS Degree/Diploma)] and in Dental (MDS) are being allotted through Online Counselling at the State level. Out of which 40% of the State Quota degree seats and 50% of the State Quota diploma seats in Medical and 40% degree seats in Dental are reserved for In-service teachers and medical officers of the Department (WBMES/WBHS/WBPHAS/WBDES/WBDS). However all the DNB State Quota seats are reserved for In-service teachers and medical officers of the Department (WBMES/WBHS/WBPHAS).

UG AYUSH Counselling

Candidates who are interested to participate in the Online Counselling for any under-graduate AYUSH courses (BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BNYS) for State Quota seats in any of the Government AYUSH colleges and State Quota, Management Quota and All India Quota seats in any of the Private AYUSH colleges in the State of West Bengal have to qualify in NEET-UG conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) during the current academic year.

PG AYUSH Counselling

AIAPGET, namely ‘All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test’, is a single entrance examination conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for admission to Postgraduate AYUSH Courses for the current academic year.

All the AIAPGET Post Graduate (Ayurveda / Homeopathy) aspired candidates are hereby informed that Counselling for West Bengal State Quota seats in State Government AYUSH institutions will be conducted by West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) under the Directorate of Medical Education, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal.
